hey, do u think if i paint it dull black, the paint would hold up, in terms of heat n stuff? or will it start to peel. if i want to do it myself what would i need? as in what kind of paint etc?

I would assume that high temp paint (ie caliper paint) would be up for the job.

What I don't know however, is how well the paint will stick to the metal, regardless of temp.

I use 'Motospray' brand Heatproof paint. Its not too bad, but you gotta get into the headers & clean then up good & proper before painting. That weird goldish zinc looking finish has to come off first - use a wire brush. Other wise it just flakes off later...

ehheeheh Intake manifold, & exhaust manifold eheheh I think next time you better specify which one Shue, anyway the spray can i'm talking about will do both & just clean them with alcohol (turb), & then start spraying.
