yea i was wondering about that as well...
is the dyno one of those rolling bearing ones or the ones where they attach directly to the wheel at the side???
will we get a graph of power output and can other non-fto ppl come along???

Details have yet to be finalised, but judging on past dyno days, you will stick your car on a "rolling road" dyno and you will get a printout showing power (KW) and torque.

I think the brand of dyno UAS has just bought, is the same company that run the Horsepower heroes at the Summernats.
I would say that non-fto drivers would be welcome depending on the amount of interest.

i think its still worthwhile to get it done once before any mods are done...so you have something to compare to if you do do mods...
also just because you think your car is stock, it doesnt mean it is,....the previous owner in japan or aus could have had the internals worked so its a "sleeper" like gavs car... perhaps the fastest fto we know of and apparently its a stock GR

yeh i agree, getting a dyno readout prior to any mods is a good idea so that you know what the baseline power figures are... then once you do the mods, you can go for another dyno readout and see how much difference it makes.
...but i've heard from numerous forums that some dynos have been 'tweaked' or miscalibrated to give higher horsepower readings than the actual output. Allegedly you will get different HP readings depending on which dyno or workshop you go to...!!

Tires make a difference to readouts as well. tires without good grip slip more and will read out lower on a dyno. Basically you should use the same dyno everytime you make mods to see how much they have your car improved by.
UAS i find are reliable and as its a brand new dyno there should be no issues that older dynos have giving false readings.

gavs is fast but so is mine and on a couple of occations on curise's gav has not been able to keep up
but i think all gr manuals and quick

kaveman, it would have been perfect if you came to the last dyno day in penshurst or peakhurst or whereever that was... then you would have been able to compare with gav on the same dyno... try to get gav to goto this one

and you can settle it once and for all - but remember gav's car hasnt got any breathing mods on it yet...
tyre pressure also plays a big part, if they are under inflated then you will get lower readings due to less grip. i forgot to check this last time!

hahah not keep up, more like not want to loose my license

crappy tyres doesnt make a difference either, i had total bald tyres when i got my last reading, it made a high pitch screaming on the wheels hehe. it only really makes a difference with high kw cars

i have been out with gav on a couple of cruise allready
last two the person behind gav crashed
any mug can drive in a straight line
let go the wakefield park and see who the quickest is once and for all
no risk of losing your licence, at least not on the track
who is up for it
they have a open day on

Oh then that's whole new different ball game from a dyno shootout!!
Kaveman, I think your car is much more suited to the track than is Gav's.
I don't think Gav has any suspension mods at all.

yeah my car doesnt stick for crap, no suspension mods, though im full keen for a track day, but you should make it ina few months, so we can organise like a cruise there + accomidation for those outof sydney, and make a huge day/ngith of it, and also give me some time to save up for soem suspension mods + new tyres hehehe

how many kw at the wheels does a tip gpx have? i heard one of my fried said that we have no more than 90kws? and teggy type r is only 95kw? is this right?
