Driving home, minding my own business & THUMP!!!
Something belts my roof & scares the bejeezus out of me....
I pull over to find a nice big dent in the roof & a whopping great tree branch on the road... F%&K this wind!!
Just after I spend 6 hours and $500 odd bucks on the motor on the weekend - now I gotta go to the f%&ken panel shop!!
Forever chasing my f%&ken tail with this car!!
I might sell it, invest all my money in NASA & gettem to build me a friggen matter transporter (like in the Simpson / the Fly movie) so I can walk into a green mist & end up at work... Spend all my cash working it. So my time from couch to toilet can be reduced from 0.0001 seconds to 0.00005 seconds...

NASA? More likely you'll walk into the matter transporter, and end up a green mist.

Or bits wont end up in the right spot.... Could bring a whole new meaning to the term d*%khead!!
Seriously though, that was tough luck, wrong place at the wrong time. I suppose looking on the bright side its lucky it wasnt the whole tree or the roof of your car would be the least of your worries!!

Hey Bennoz, that sux man, but before you go ahead & fix the roof, take some photo of you roof, & find that tree branch which caused the damage.
You can lodge a claim to the council where the tree is planted, as it is their job to make sure all tree on nature strip or along public road to be safe.
That mean your hard earn tax money which they had collected should be spend on trimming the trees before it causes damages or injury to the publics.

Was kinda thinking if i go into the transporter with a well hung bloke & try & score all the good DNA & ...erm... I've said too much...

But quite right, could have been the whole tree, could have been a real sore head..

It actually fell from a tree within a business ground. As much as I'd like to get on my horse and go all legal on the company, my time spent pursuing that course of action could well be better spent by doing some overtime at work to cover the damage - especially considering the branch fell from within the grounds of the ABC! (imagine how long that legal action could take...) Had my panel beater look at it & because no paint was cracked / scratched, they reckon they can heat it up & back to shape to look all-but just like new for a mates rate of $250... think I'll go with it. A respray was on the cards for about 12 months down the track anyway.
Appreciate your sentiment & advice folks! The madness has left me now...
Im just gonna get on with it & get it fixed in due course.

i reckon you should still ask for some compensation from the abc and state your case. Send them a letter, or meet with them.
I think its worth a try, if not. $250 aint that bad.

Well, I've been contemplating whether to get on my horse about it all week, but after 12 schooners last night, I put 20 into a pokie (which is rare cause Im not a gambling man by any stretch of the imagination) and lo & behold won $345 bucks... paid for a night on the p_ss & repairs!
