BLOODY 4WD!~!!!!!
sorri, just had to get that out of my system :(
on friday i was at Lane Cove parked on the side of the road, was gonna pull out when i saw the 4wd infront of me go into reverse, so i thought, ok i'll just wait for her to leave first, but as she reversed it was getting alil to close for comfort, on the street u could hear
HONK HONKHONK HOOOOONNNNNKKKKK CRASH! :!: :!: 8O :!: at which she finally decided to stop!
initially she was saying " oh its nothing but dust! that'll come rite off when u clean your car"
Until i pointed out to her that my DAMN bumper was squashed under my bonnet!

then her excuses became
"your car is too low"
"and its black in colour, i couldnt see it!"
~mind u this was 4 pm with full arvo sunlight!!!

GRHHHHHHHH :x :x :x damn man! and i have ppl who wanna come see my car because i've paid to have it advertised for sale too, bloody hell,

who here agrees with me that 4wd's should be banded from the city???~!!!

the lucky thing is that since i got a good 3seconds worth of honking done before she smacked into my car, the whole street had time to turn around and see her make contact~!!! :P

so i have witnesses from EVERY angle! heheheh

Sorry to hear about the prang. I also had a car almost back into me. This stupid person was a bit nervous about turning right out of a street so decided she would just reverse back and turn left instead. She never checked her mirror but just stuck the car into reverse and started moving. Needless to say I sat with my had firmly on the horn, and luckly she heard me. Sheesh some people!! Hope those panel beaters I recommended help :D

Well IMO, you can see better in a 4WD, because is higher I get to see the road much clearer & further then normal sedan or 2 door couple. It is also to my experience I can react quicker & earlier due to those reasons. And as a 4WD owner (well I had one & getting another one soon), I actually pay a lot more attention then I would normally does with sedan or coupe, as I'm very aware the 4WD is much bigger & also have a much larger turning circle due to the all terrain 4WD system (not AWD)

It is very obvious is the driver fault here, not the 4WD, she fail to notice her surrounding & also wasn't alert of what’s going on even when you horning her. I got revised back by a lot of these types of people with any sort of cars during my years on the road.

If you really want to pursuit this, you can file charges of "reckless driving" & "endanger the public" against her.

I'm not havcing a go at all 4WD owners but i have to say, in my experiences they seem to think they own the road. A lot of people who buy them for their status symbol couldn't care less about others on the roads, i've nearly been taken out several times and they just don't care. I have to say that i'm not a big fan of people who buy them then never use them in the way they were intended.

Have to add as well that when you are trying to reverse out of angle parking and you have a dirty great 4WD either side of you it is impossible to see oncoming traffic.

Well i have to agree with you Ethan, 80% of the 4WD these days are design as a SUV, & not a off roader. It is a fact that lots of 4WD owner out there thinks they really owns the road. I know because my mate is one, his got the oversize VW Touareg, & have the "I run you over attitude".

It certainly enhances the push to have mandatory reversing sensors/screen for all oversized vehicles, including trucks, people movers etc...

And as much as women dont like to admit it, they are usually at fault. It really doesnt make sense to have a 4WD beast in the middle of the city to drop the kids to school - I know its a jungle out there but that really is only a figure of speach :D
