flashing "N"

hey guys i had my gearbox rebuilt last year around june
the car alwayz change gears smoothly since then no problem
but now sometimes i can feel it sliped gear in both tip and just on drive
N starts to flash
but after i switch car off and turn back on its gone
but comes back after a while
any idea on what is wrong?
thanks!!!
i tried disconnecting the battery for 30min already(i did 1hr) and it still happens

i had the same problem.. it was the input speed sensor for me.. all worn out and it does that.. i think u'll need to get it replaced..

ive gotten mine replaced and its been fine ever since.. but yeah.. that'll be your best bet.. unless your low on oil or your using the wrong oil all together.. =P.. or so my mechanic said lol..

you need to get a consult unit plugged in and it will give the error code and then you'll know whats wrong...

most common are speed sensors that are worn out...

yeah i'll look it up... if i can find it in my database...

it sits on top of your gearbox so it should be easy enough to track down the part number

when i replaced it.. the part + labour cost me about 300 roughly..

did u replace it with the sonsor i sold to u?
ma ni went to 3 different mechanics today
2 transmision and one performance mechanic
transmission guys couldnt even get the computer to read with the ECU
the performance place got it to read but no error
they did it 3 times
when they test drove my car it was fine
OMGthis is streesing me out!!!
and i ended up buying HIDs for 400bucks!
very nice too:D

i heard a little while ago on a fto review from the 'race scar' tv program that if you dont use genuine mistu fto oil for the gearbox it can do wierd things...

excuse me guys can anyone help me find the part number for
the input speed sensor?
no body knows!!!!
i called up northshore mits and they dont know
same as kempys
all mits northshore said is that there is 2 sensors listed
one is right angled and one has a harness attaced to it
anybody have any ideas???
the flashing N is annoying me!!!

ive got this problem too...helllp its pissing me off too and it just started 30mins ago hahaha....i dont wanna go to a mechanic before i know what speed sensor thing is and how easy it is to get so i dont get ripped off

Get your chassis number and send it to Kempy's.

Part number is MR567292. This WILL vary depending on the year of your car - hence you need to give them your chassis number.

I cant remember if that is the 3 or 4 pin sensor. It varies according to the year of your car. I cant even rember which one my 94 GR uses... I have the info at my parents place and can get it on the weekend if you want it.
