hiya,

has anyone removed the entire dash yet? i tried once but couldnt locate all the screws, either that or i just couldnt remove the damn thing. any hints and tips or preferably step by step stuff? my heater coil is blown and leaking water into the passenger side, therefore draining the radiator. i've disconnected it but now have a full radiator but dont have aircon

I have just finished this job, and won't say that its easy even though I read that it was. Even once I got the dash out changing the heater part was very difficult cause everything is so tightly packed in.

As for getting the dash off just go nuts that's what I did. I systematically went through removing screws and bolts till it started to give. If it got caught somewhere then I would trace it back to the anchor point and keep going. Steering wheel had to come off too.

It's a big job I spread mine over 3 days, with a few hours each day.

Might I suggest the use of a swear jar or punching bag as this is the most frustrating thing I have done on a car, not so much the dash but the heater box itself.

If you have an airbag, I can't help.

If you don't, there is a screw on the bottom and at the back of the horn pad undo that and remove the cover. You'll then find a 17mm nut, undo that. Then you'll need a steeriing wheel puller available anywhere that sells car stuff. I found I had to remove the metal bracket used to make the horn work to get the puller in properly.

Once you get in there it's all quite straight forward.
