What type of noise, and when does it happen? ie when the steering wheel is at full lock right and/or left, when you go over a speed bump. Reason I'm asking is because I had my droplinks and bushes replaced and the symptoms were a knocking noise on a rough road or when I went over a speed bump. I have now recently developed a knocking noise when I turn the steering wheel on full lock or when I take a corner a bit fast. I think it may be CV joints but I could be wrong. Hubby is too busy renovating the bathroom to take a look at the moment.... So I'll just have to put up with it for now..

I too am having a similar problem in that when i full lock i can hear a dull noise, and when i go over a speed hump or a driveway i can hear a noise on the drivers side.

I originally thought it was just my inner wheel guards (as they r very loose and require replacing) but after looking through several posts I have a horrible feeling it is ye ole' droplink and bush problem. what does everyone think?

Also, where abouts in Sydney could I get these on the cheap and also the inner wheel guards, in case this is simply the problem!

Cheers guys,

Ben

I got mine from North Shore Mitsu... Not that expensive if I recall correctly. That is of course the drop links and bushes. Give them a buzz. Fitting will cost you big time. You basically have to drop the whole front end out of the car to fit them. I'm lucky my bro-in-law is a mechanic so hubby and him replaced them and all we paid him was a case of beer :D :D Ahhhh beer, universal currency!!

Maybe the problem is both the cv joints and the droplinks. I didnt get the knocking when the wheel was in full lock until recently, but before the droplinks and bushes were changed the knocking noise was there on rough surfaces but not on full lock.. It might be worth your while to get them both looked at. As I've said before I'm only guessing that is my problem but it sure as hell sounds like it.

With any luck I'll drag my pit crew away from bathroom renovation duties this week end and get him to evaluate the problem. I'll let you know what he finds....
