What did you hit or hit you?
Looks like you saved your lights which is the expensive bit.

Feels sickly when u look at it, but could have been hell of a lot worse! Bad luck mate

If you've only crashed once, consider yourself lucky!
I've managed to crash every car I've owned (5 in total) - none of which were my fault. That's what I get for living in a city surrounded by completely incompetent f*ckwits!
And yeah if you escaped headlight damage that's all good - it cost $1500 NZD for a replacement headlight for my car (HID factory admittedly)
By the way, what happened?
You might just be able to get away with a replacement panel and some painting...

I was behind a car turning right, decided to go around. A Soarer two cars back decided to do the same thing and I can only assume totally gunned it because one minute he was just pulling out in my mirrors, next second he's in front of me and I'm swiping his car.
It could have been much worse. Only the side panel and bumper were damaged. Everything else, door, bonnet, HID lights, driving lights, indicators, WHEELS!, etc. got out of it unscathed. Not sure if it will be cheaper to fix or replace the bumper, AFAIK it will be cheaper to replace it but as the panel beater said, insurance assessors aren't panel beaters and quite often don't share that logic.
I'm probably going to go through
http://www.shipstone.com.au/. They sound very good. My biggest problem is the current paintjob is total crap. I've been dreading any paint damage because it means a total respray and the insurance company is not going to cover anything beyond the damage done by the accident. Even if the panel beater says they can not do a partial spray because of issues with the current paint job. So I'm up for thousands of dollars to make up the difference
BuCkEt, indeed, I don't know what I'd do if my Altezza's were damaged. It's not like I can replace them.

ouch man no fun at all
but yeah look on the bright side!
every accedent i have had (3 of them) has been a lot more serius then that! infact thats probibly the least damage i have seen in a while
if you broke your head or driver lights you would be in a lot more pain/ more time off the road finding hte parts!
Replacement bumper?

Yeah, I know, it could have been much worse. Still makes me want to cry every time I see that photo.
I'm looking for suppliers of the front bumper. Preferably something different to the stock bumper but that can still take the standard light fittings. Failing that, just a stock one would be fine. Anyone got any web sites or phone numbers for suppliers?

Not sure bout over your way, but in NZ:

Bit much for my taste, but their front-spoiler that fits to the standard bumper does look quite nice:

But would have thought there'd be someone with a spare standard bumper in the shed somewhere on the forum!

That 921 one is the same one that I have now after my accident - it came from Aerotech...

Pretty interested if u find any other places that do bumpers - tempted to get my rear replaced sometime soon.
Any word on the spray paint? If they can't do a partial, then I recon Insuarance should cover it... Bugger's will weadle out of anything that involves shelling out money.

Sorry to see your FTO like that!!!!
I had the same damage (Front 1/4 panel)on my car back around Christmas. I went through my insurance company (Just Cars). When i went to get quotes, i was very suprised. Every panel beater had said that my front bumper, front lip, drivers door, other front 1/4 panel and my bonnet had to be resprayed. So the paint could match the rest of the car. So before it got fixed i went around and asked the same panel beaters for a cash in hand quote to respary the whole car. The cheapest was $1500. The panel beater said since the insurance company was paying for half the car to be resprayed, that he wouldn't mined fixing the whole car. Since the respray my FTO looks brand new. You can turn a bad situation into a positive.

Good luck!!!!
