My FTO Vs My MR2

Some of may know that i bought a 1990 MR2 Turbo a couple of months ago. I have yet to sell my FTO so Ive decided to make a quick comparison between these two cars as they are both highly regarded as great handling cars in their class.
Advantages of
FTO over MR2
- Easier to drive for inexperienced drivers.
- No sudden power boost around corners.
- Revs out more.
Advantages of
MR2 over FTO.
- A outstanding handling car in the right hands.
- Greater turning circle.
- More power when needed.
- Excellent driving position
- Feels like a go kart around twisties
- One of the best rear wheel drive car for launches
I have raced MR2 turbos a few times with my FTO and have been always killed from the start!

Their launches are incredible. I assume its because the engines in the back.

if you havent already, watch High Octane DVDs (the Kiwi ones).
They mod a MR2 Turbo, and get some pretty good power out of it..
Might give you ideas.

yeah ive seen the high octane ones. Ive got my mod list down pat and bought a few parts already for both performance and cosmetic.

I love the TRD Widebody kit... a bit pricey though (well a genuine one)

Thats not the story i've remember when mikey & I took u on with your MR2 turbo haahhhaa
But yeah been in a ride with you in the MR2, it would out handle the FTO in twisty any day, just the launch mate, you a bit behind on that heheehe

I love the TRD Widebody kit...
i love it as well , but i cant afford the original so i have sourced a copy of it and i'll be doing a complete respray on the car either in kandy green or kandy blue.

yeah and speaking of handling, i hardly even saw you on my rear view mirror at Yarra Boulevard the other day...
i'd be very careful with it in the wet though, esp if you are cornering hard...
and nigga please, do us all a big favour - DON'T spray it in kandy green, looks fux0red on the SW20 man...

Mil why don't u do the sleeper look, which mean leave the fu*k up paint job as it is, & leave the bodykits in "raw" colour ehehhe

better still, make your own bodykit out of cardboard paper and spray it with VHT and then stick it onto your car... then don't forget to paint the obligatory JDM logos down the side of your doors with whiteboard markers - you can have the last laugh when you blow past those Excels...
seriously now, as far as performance mods go you can only go as far with the SW20 due to the location of the intercooler... unless you want it roof-mounted lolol

im probably going the kandy blue due to 'certain' reasons that i will announce once it has been confirmed.

that is tru, but as i said before, the rear suspension in my car is totally stuffed as i was getting airborned on some of those bumps

that tru, but there are many MR2s that are pulling 200-220 kwatw with standard internals and aftermarket intercooler in stock position. The only time where u would want to get the intercooler in the boot would be if yr aiming for 300+kwatw even then u have the option of a water to air intercooler.

I have always loved the Sw20. I was going to buy one until my bro went interstate and left me his FTO.
My friend has a mildly modified one (bolt on's only) which pulls 200kw atw. Its black, looks stock and goes damn hard!

Mil getting kwatw is easy, anyone can splash out money & have a high kw car, but able to utilizing it on the street is another story.
You just wait till the end of this yr mate, i give you a run for your money with the "turtle" ehehhehe

i never said 200kw is impossible... i agree it's easy to get that sort of power with bolt ons but if you're talking mega mumbo then it's going to be a challenge. by the way, as you would know the engine bay on the SW20 is very cramped so any bolt on work is quite labour intensive, which means more $ if you get a workshop to do the mechanical work for you...
and i agree with Kev as well - having all the power and money to use is all well and good, but if you can't use that power practically then there's no point... (classic example BMT S15 - 'nuff said lol

I've decided to get "that" car & respray it to Acid Green, which makes it look like a turtle ahahahaha, I think the number plate is still availible from VicRoad too eheheh

hahaha, don't get cocky nigga - you already problems with the car in stock trim, let alone 200kw atw lol... you just wait till you drive in the wet around Mt Dandy with that sort of power
besides, the reason why i spent so goddamn much $ on my setup is because 2/3 of the parts used on my car were all custom made, not bolt-on parts that you can buy off the shelf so you can't really compare them both at face value...
