anyone used these? I have seen them sold at JB for $549 + .. I have always heard reasonably good things from pioneer and currently have pioneer speaks in my car from previous owner (however either the wiring or the speaker are just about dead!).

Seems there are quite a few pairs on net for around $200-$250...

i dont know much about speakers... do the stats on those speakers look ok?

The TS-Cs are a good speaker, pretty powerful. Only thing I'd say is to find someone who will handle warranty claims in Australia in case something goes wrong.

I know someone who sells them for slightly more with an ABN and full local warranty. PM me if keen..

I judged a SQ car at Easternats just recently that had those speakers in it. They can handle of a lot of power but theres not too much mid range from them. It was definately the worse part of the guys system which had probably the softest and smoothest bass ive heard in a long time.
I would never pay $549 for those speakers. For that price i would rather get MB Quartz, Boston Acoustics or even the new Blaupunkt Velocity range.

Dave, dont look at stats when u want to buy the speaker. They dont mean jack. Its the quality of sound that counts not what number the manufacturer wants to list it as. Have a listen to less mainstream brands like the above mentioned and u'll be impressed. :D

thanks Mil - Ive had a quick listen at JB - but its very hard to compare at places liek that - your never to sure which controls they are manipulating when comparing speakers and there is so much background noise its hard to tell.

I actually think my problem at the moment is the dodgy wiring job that was done from my amps to the speaker doors (good cabling is only used half of the way) so i will fix taht before pursuing speakers first.

I wouldnt pay $549 but thought at the price listed they could be a good price as I had generally heard good things of pioneer - albeit in home theatre as opposed to car audio.

will have a listen to some of the brands you mentioned and see what I think anyway. cheers.

definately get the wiring problem fixed. No point putting in good speakers when using cheap wiring.
Some of those brands u would have to go to stores that specialise in car audio. I believe there should be one close to you on Whitehorse Rd. I'll find out the name.

I am interested into this conversation.
what could be improved with wiring?
are we talking about the diametre (8ga, 10ga), or the actualy different cables of same diametre makes diffrent as well.

generally splits come with their own wiring and generally they are very average. Stinger wiring is a great wiring to buy for yr system as they offer the best quality for their price. Also, running thicker wiring for yr subs is also essential (4ga, 2ga). The better the wiring the more use and quality yr system will get out of yr speakers.
