Has anyone seen any instructions on how to change the cam belt on a GPX? Failing that, if you've done your own was it straightforward and have you got any tips? I've changed them before, but not on an FTO.

have you done a cambelt change on a V6 before?

the only caution i'd give is to remember that the camshafts will try to move/turn and since the fto engine is an interference engine, if the camshafts move under the force of the valve springs while one or more of the pistons is at the top of the cylinder, you can bend your valves...

oh and also mark down how many teeth are between the timing marks on the cam sprockets before taking the old one off because therell be a bit of ambigiuty when lining up the timing marks....

also youll need a vice or a press of some sort to compress the hydraulic tensioner....

other than those things... if youve done a timing belt change before, you should be ok i think.....

nice one mate.

I've found some instructions now in the engine manual I downloaded a while ago. Wish me luck.
