Fog lights

Hey guys,

I just have some questions about the factory FTO fog lights.

From what I understand, the pre-facelift indicator assemblies in the front bumper can either also include park lights or fog lights. However both types appear the same from the front. Is this correct? It seems I have the park light type, however I also have park lights in my headlight assembly as well. So if that is correct, I'd like to change them for the foglight ones as my car doesn't have the factory fog lights and I quite like having them.

Also, where is the factory fog light switch located? Is it one of the ones on the instrument binnacle surround, or is it one of the ones on the dash between the steering wheel column and the drivers door? I'm not sure because as my car is a Version R, it doesn't have ANY of those switches. However it does have what appears to be some aftermarket wiring to enable some auxillary lights, so wiring shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks

pre face lift indicator pods include the indicator, park, and driving lights. dace lift lights are completly different, and judging by your avatar, i would say you have prefacelift.
to turn on the driving lights the switch is just to the right of the speedo, you have 2 buttons on each side of your dials, the one on the right will turn them on

Yeah the facelift ones are the ones like in YOUR avatar

Thats the thing - I can't turn them on because I don't have a) the switch or b) the lights themselves - my indicator assemblies just have indicators and park lights. I just wanted to confirm that you can get versions of those with the fog lights before I go and try and find some...

Both switch locations on each side of my instruments just have blanks in my car - you can see them in the link in my sig...

all pods do have fog lights in them, except it looks like the previous owner changed to the veilside and didnt move the lights down to the light pods.

I'm not so sure about that, since mine don't seem to. Here's what I found on the FTO OC website (http://www.ftooc.org/contents/pages/faq/faq.html):
FTOOC wrote:There are two types of "Fog Lamps" Externally they appear identical. If you remove units from spoiler and look at the back the "Fog Lamps" have a 60 watt bulb in addition to side light and indicator. The front lens and reflector appear to be the same but on the "non fog lamps" the rear moulding does not have provision for the large bulb and the side lamp is more central.
Mine seem to be the "non fog lamp" type they refer to. So now I'm confused. Oh well, I guess it's off to a wrecker to find out.

In NZ you'd fail a WOF and not be allowed to drive on the road for that - here cars must have working park lights. Lucky you're not here...
