4sp box - Does this sound right?

Hey .... got a friend with a 4sp box (GPX) and he says when he changes from 1st to 2nd the revs drop from 8000 all the way to 4000. Does this sound right or is that too much. I have a 5sp so I cant help him. Mine only drop maybe 1500rpm... thanks for the help

I don't think it should drop that low, if u change at about 8-8.5 K u should still b in mivec range when second engages, or damn close to it

8000rpm in 1st would equate to 4300rpm in 2nd

Ok thanks. So 4000 is about right then.....seems low, glad i have a 5spd
