Hey Guys,
One of my belts have frayed on my engine and is holding on by a few threads
I think it is the Airconditioning and Power Steering belt as you can see it by looking straight down the left hand side of the engine (95 GPx Mivec manual).
I need to know the part number if anyone knows it as Im having problems finding one ?
Your help would be appreciated .....
Toni

really? they arent that hard to find
sure your local autopro or whatever may have to order it in, but last time i did this, within a few hours they had one waiting for me
the part no's are
alternator belt- 4PK945
power steering - 6pk1070(though you'll prolly not find a 1070 and use a more readily available 1080 instead, makes no difference, thats what the adjuster is for)

Hey toni,
Sorry bout the late reply
Neway, Silent bob is dead right.
I couldnt find the 6PK1070, all i could find was a DAYCO 6PK1065. From repco if i can recall.
Its a bit of a tight fit but once its on its fine (a 5ml difference)
Had mine on for ages now and its sweet.
Good luck.

the belts usually cost around 40-60 for both, fitting ranges about 50-80 i guess, its not that hard to do it your self though , there isa guide @

cost me $50 to purchase and fitting of genuine Mitsubishi belt at Northern Mitsubishi at Preston.
This was the only thing they were confident to do with my FTO. I dont recommend them, and never go back there again after 2 services.

oh.... labour sounds more expensive than the part itself......... but still big variation in prices............

well labour should include :
hoist time - $30
Mech- 20 mins( 20/60 x 75) = $25
Materials - ?? $2 $3
so it should be around 50 60 for labour... plus parts. so around 80 90 for everything all up
