Hi

I know it's abit silly to ask..but I want to be sure. My FTO's reserve coolant reservoir is almost empty. Do I add water in it or coolant? I have heard that some coolant don't mix very well and I'm not sure what kind of coolant is in the car at the moment.

Any advice?

You should only need to add water, if the water in your radiator has a green tinge you have coolent. You only need to add coolent if you have a leak or have a full radiator flush. Hope this helps

well i would advise you to add coolant as most cooling systems these days have been filled with a premixed etholene glycol mixture which is a green colour, If it is red it would be the toyota type coolant which is also a very good coolant and if you are going to use water use distilled water.

It is the chemicals and salts in normal water that cause most of the corrosion in modern alloy engines or heads, and normal water will corrode alloy parts very quickly.
