well if your insurance company intends to replace it with an 'original' front bar, for the same price youd prolly go close to getting a WHOLE vielside kit

Well, it really depends how much damage your front bar is. Just to give you an idea, a facelift (Genuine) front bumper costs $680 (without paint). And then if you have to replace any front bar re-inforcements, you're looking between $150 and $550.
I think the Veilside copies front bar kit uses the stock front bar re-inforcements. So, if these are damaged, insurance have to replace these as well.
And I guess the other thing you have to consider is whether or not your insurance company will hike up your premium if you add a bodykit to your car. So in the long run, the cost to you may even out.

yeah true true.. it wasnt my fault so i diddnt relly tell my insurance... my front bar is cracked down the middle, and concave's on the right side bonnet broken, left headlight smashed so i think i need everything replaced anyway.. i just wanted to know if its going to cost 680 for a stock bar i might as well get a veilside or a aftermarket bar for cheeper. hehe
is stock prefacelift bar more expensive than veilside?

According to the UAS website, a non-genuine stock prefacelift is $100 than the Veilside copy.
But if the accident is not your fault anyways, you should get as much out of it as possible. Was the other dude insured? If he/she was, I would, my personal opinion try to get some genuine parts. If he/she wasn't, then you could try to speed things abit by getting cheaper parts if they're short of $$.

yeah she was insured im getting my car quoted tomorrow so yeah.. hopefuly i wont have to wait that long. but the headlight is a concern because they look hard to find. but the bumper i want a new look rather than the prefacelift.

why not insist on a genuine new light, then get one from the wreckers...that would leave you with some cash left over
*chuckles*
