Cold start issues

Hi guys,
I know mitsubishi's are notorious for their idle problems (I had a lancer for 6 years prior to the FTO) and ive dealt with my fair share of fixes!

I'm just after a bit of brainstorming help on what could cause my problem.

When I first start the car after letting it sit for a while (temp needle reading cold) It starts first time but then dies... If I pump the brake a few times (its an auto) the idle will increase and hunt for about 30 seconds before it stabilises. When the engine is warm, this doesnt happen though. I can jsut start it and it idles fine (most times) sometimes I still have to pump the brake.

I've adjusted TPS, BISS screw and the screw that determines closed throttle postion. I have also taken the stepper and entire throttle body off for a good clean (stepper tested fine as well).

Im thinking I might check my timing, and also the coolant temp sensor (re the coolant temp sensor I think it should throw an error code though if that was faulty?)

Can anyone think of any other suggestions?

Mike

i havnt had this on my fto but on my old alfa it was due to the air temp/flow sensor. replacing it did the trick

Are you referring to the air intake temp sensor which is a part of the Air flow meter? The ecu isnt reading any error codes so i dont think that is it...
thanks for the suggestion.
