get under and measure ;)

from memory there isn't a sway bar (under body)... but the support there is huge... the weak point is teh arms that go from the chasis to the suspension mounts... i'm trying to work out how to strength this front and back... (looks like i'm going to have to do some welding)..

I don't think spetz has an fto... i think he either is thinking or has transplanted the 6A12 into another car like a lancer...

I'm probably the only one in this forum so far hahahhah.....

The sway bar im using at the rear is off FTO as well.....but in order for me to make use of this - I have to use the same lower control arms from FTO as well.....they'rnt that thick but thick enuff for the CE Lancer Chasis i guess.

Yeah it's a CE lancer with the V6 MIVEC and has the rear FTO swaybar with the lower arms.
I am just wondering if I should bother replacing that swaybar with a whiteline swaybar.

HRD2BQT-
Do you know if I get a aftermarket swaybar from Whiteline, do I ask for the FTO one, or the lancer one? FTO I guess???

You can always get an after market part if u want to and since you r using the same set up as mine - yes u guna have to inquire d ones for FTO.
But if u decide to use the stock CE Lancer control arms then get the ones for Lancer.

But personally FTO sway bar is good enuff for our car - I'd rather put my money on rear strut brace if u want solid handling and cornering.

by the way, that thing you have on your control arms - is that a lower tie bar?.....does that give you anything?.....

It links the two control arms together, it connects to where the adjustments for the toe is for the rear, and since they are on bushes, this just stiffens it up so that under hard cornering the toe doesn't go out of whack. Basically same as any other brace, it just helps keep the alignment in place.
And I can't say how much it did, as I put it on with my coilovers so can't say what exactly it did!
But the car does handle quite good, still understeers quite a bit, but otherwise sticks to the road.
I got camber pins, anti-lift/castor kit, front strut brace, lower rear brace, now the FTO rear swaybar, fulcrum coilovers, and will get a rear strut brace.

PS. I think I am gonna have my car back this weekend!!! So excited!

spetz,

You car has started already but the wiring is still all over the place.
You're engine sounds so quiet, you hardly hear those annoying tappet noise.

But i doubt it would be finished this weekend. Still lotsa work and tidying up to do. I'd say it'd be finish at the end of the month.

Yeah I called Charlie... not this weekend :(
Taking so long! It's been nearly 2 months already!!!
He told me it's started already and the engine is in excellent condition.
All I can say is that I am dying to drive it

By the way, how has your handling been effected by the V6? I hope it doesn't distrupt it too much

I am driving down there again, this weekend, I gave him the car with missing door trims and such and he told me it can't get engineered without a full interior, so gotta drop it off.
I'll let you know what day (prob saturday) if you wanted to come say hello... maybe take me for a spin... no wait... I'll wait till my car is ready :)
