GR with mods vs GPX stock

hello!
We are currently looking at a GR with air filter, iridium spark plugs and some other mods (i have no idea what these mods do, except that they supposedly increase performance)
would the performance of that GR be better than a stock GPX
both the GR and GPX are tiptronic
thank you for your time!

the difference between the GR and GPX isnt that great. The fastest FTO's in the UK are very mixed. The GPX is usually on top but theres GR's near the top as well, breating out a few GPX's.
But if you can i reckon you would be better off with the GPX. Those mods on the GR alone wouldnt do much for it. So given two exqually talented drivers, the GPX should still be quicker than the GR. But there could be a big chance the GR is quicker, as no two cars are alike.

Before everyone jumps on you, I am pretty sure this has been discussed a few times before.
However, welcome to the forums! Always good to see new people.
To answer your question - go with the GPX. It will almost certainly perform better - unless it is a "freak" GR, in which case it will be basically the same anyhow.
4 good reasons to go with the GPX:
1. It will have more options on it
2. If it comes time to sell, GPX will shift easier.
3. Any mods you do to the GPX will only increase the gap between the two, ie get the GPX to the same level as the GR you are looking at and then see which was the better investment
4. The MIVEC symphony.
Thats my opinion anyhow. So, good luck, welcome and enjoy!

I agree to what mrx had just said. The mod you mention are fairly cheap as well, so you can easily had them for a GPX. Unless is a major mod like CAM & Turbo, I don't see the point of choosing GR over GPX when they both Tip.

thank you people VERY much for your time
I've already read through the GR vs GPX thread twice, but they were comparing (presumably) a stock GR and a stock GPX. The other thread did not really compare performance
just a quick question for anybody who feels like posting:
what do the filters and CAI (?) do?

In short, Air filters allows your engine to suck/breathe easier, increasing performance due to more air, then a Cold Air Intakes, (CAI) is highly reccommended so that the air filter doesn't suck in warm air from the engine bay. The colder the air the airfilter is sucking in the better, colder = denser.
Have a look at the pictures of the UAS CAI kit here on this website in the projects or the shop section, it should give you a good idea...
