i'll be installing one soon... basically you need to plumb a temp sensor into your piping... where you install it has an effect on temp...

i.e. if i install mine before my tranny raditator it will read higher than after it...

the best place to install (to get the most accurate temp) is as close to the gearbox on the outbound side as possible....

you can also get sensors that go at the bottom of your dipstick... don't know how good these are though

Got round to doing it stephen?
Was wondering what temp range it will fall in between?
I spose a engine oil temp guage will be a better choice compared to a water temp gauge?
