Tyre Recommendations?

Looks like I'll be back in the FTO fold in about a week *does a little dance*. Anyway, it has stock standard wheels on it so I want to change them. I figure 17 inch is a good compromise between looks, performance, ride comfort and long-term wear.
So I'm after tyre recommendations. I'd prefer to stay away from directional tyres unless someone can convince me they make a difference below 200km/hr. And I'd describe myself as a mildly agressive drive, so what do you longer term FTO owners recommend?
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated :)

Cheers,

Gavin

mild driver ah? haha

if you're are one of those rich guys out there just go for those famous high cost races tyres like S-01/2/3 and everyone will think you're cool lol

personally i don't feel a different between them in grip to other mid-high cost tyres like Eagle F1, Potenza G3 (the one i'm using now) etc, it still couldn't stop on a 70kms hard break or 50kms rain condition, so what do you really want from a tyre is the question, maybe if you go for semi slick tyres haha but they worn out fast, the more soft the tyres are the more they grip but yes they worn out fast

just tell us what you want from it we'll tell ya :D

Have a look at Toyo Proxes T1-S. Very good tyres!

Thanks for that, they're exactly what the bloke said where I'm going to buy my new wheels (and tyres).

Sorry to hijack this thread, but is it true that the Bridgestone Potenza GIII is not being made anymore? I'm using those at the moment and I would hate to dish out extra money for 2 tyres rather than 1 if my Potenza GIII is punctured 8O
