5 speed auto conversion?

I've used the search button and can't seem to find anything but has anyone thought of going from 4 speed tip to 5 speed tip? (If it's possible that is). I feel 4 gears ain't enough and I might consider a manual conversion but I'd like to look into this first!
Would it be harder doing a 5 speed tip than a manual or is it a matter of finding a 5 tip gear box and doing some other modifications and that's it?

Very hard to find a 5 sp box. I reckon the 4 sp is much better box or manual even better

5 speed autos are quite fragile, and wouldn't really be worth the work required to find and maintain one. You're better off getting a manual gearbox to be honest

I don't know why everyone says the 5spd is delicate. How many of you have actually had one? Mines 170,000kms going strong with an LSD.

One was fucked when I got it, and I neutral dumped the other one and broke it lol
Weak as piss but I think it's from irregular fluid changes over the years to be honest

Don't get the 5spd for the fact that they aren't as common.

The 4spd is more common and easier to attain.

There is no gain with the 5spd, even fuel mileage is negligible.

If it does break... and it is a Mitsubishi Auto, so eventually it will. You will be hard pressed to find a second. Took me the good part of 2 years to find one.

Okay cheers for the heads up guys but put of curiosity. If I were to go through with a 5 speed auto, what would I need to make that happen? Also am I better off just buying a 5 speed instead of converting? I just like the luxuries over the GPvR such as the auto folding mirrors and sound deading, stuff like that.
