I think I need a new radiator.

However, I am not sure if I should get a stainless steel type, or an aluminium type?

Additionally, the cheapest radiator I can find is $199 landed, from ebay, VIC.

The ally ones are for manuals only. Full tig welded ally though so *hopefully* no leaks. My thermos kick in less now so I assume that the new radiator is doing a better job keeping thangs cool.

Autos' radiators are bigger?

Seems like this is the way to go, as they have a 2 year warranty, and is the 1st non aluminium I have seen.

None of the aluminium ones have transmission cooler lines. I found out the hard way even though the seller assured me they had them. I ended up getting an email from their "engineer" in China apologising that none of their FTO radiators had the cooler lines.

I bought got one for $200 and had to fork out another $120 for an external cooler. On the plus side it looks like i have a tiny intercooler

I'd recommend getting the ally one and getting an external cooler. That one is nearly S400 and will still have plastic tanks inside it.

All the ally ones come from the same factory in China so it doesn't matter which one. I bought one for $220 as it was at a factory the next suburb over from me. The $200 ones are the same thing.

So, in essence, I will need to get a $199 aluminimum radiator + a transmission cooler and the relevant hoses and mountings/brackets for both radiators, especially, the transmission's radiator?

Ooooooor, you could call dstocks & get a second hand normal auto one for a hundred bucks... coz you don't go racing... really.

Freight will cost, and I wanted something lighter, but, yes, I will reconsider this option.
Its just that, they cost $199 landed, hence the attraction.

One other option is to get your current one re-cored. Call around radiator shops and see what they can do. Autocooling.com.au are based in Clayton for example.

There are local options . Not sure what the price is but they're there.
