Ever wanted proof that the manual is significantly faster than the tip. Was tested in 97. Big download, but here you go.....

So should I rant on the fact they used a vR in the manual for an advantage? lol

You could try, but they have the same engine and arent going around corners. True, the Version R is a piddly amout lighter, but not by that sort of gap.

Besides, thats a 5sp tip, the gap would normally be wider as the 5sp Tip would normally be sitting in the garage with a buggered gearbox.

Pretty much the same as the 5sp tip. A few car lengths behind. Truth is you lose a few KW for the luxury of the tip box.

Yeah, I was skipping scenes, and it kept pace on the outside edge of a corner! Not bad at all.

That white FTO had climate control so it isn't a VR

There's def more power loss via the tip trans.....but.....what are the gear ratios like between the manual and tip? I could imagine the manual would def have shorter gears which would make it more ideal for Tsukuba.....also I don't remember seeing the straight on that course.....did they make a short course?

5spd tip would be very similar, if not the same to the 5 spd manual. 4 speed I don't know.

Great vid... you can actually see the LSD kick in in the VR when it launches the first time
