I've been trying to remove the cam cover and it will not move....wtf!!!!

I've tried using the rubber mallet but it moved one bit.

Any suggestions or method to use?

Cheers

If you don't give a f**k about your gasket shove a screw driver in between it and twist it off
Or take off your oil cap and pull like a NON Pussy

You have to go hard on it, then it will suddenly give and you will bust your knuckles on something hard and sharp in the engine bay.
No blood, no glory.

Is it stuck this hard due to previous mechanic/owner used sealant glue?
Are they suppose to?
Bloody it's stuck as f#$k!!!
Might have to result in using the screw driver.
I am just worried i may damage the cover surface.
How many guys here with Mivec engine came across this bullshit.

It is common, when we did a DIY Tappet day a few were hard to get off.
Yes it would be sealant.
Use the screw driver with care.........or a metal hammer onto a block of wood onto the cover.

thanks Phil.

I feel a little better knowing its a common thing.

so I would more than likely need a new cam cover gasket after removal?

or did you guys just reseal with gasket glue?

Daniels gaskets just got resealed with ultra blue, his was the worst stuck.
You should be able to reuse as long as you don't break them, just clean all the old sealant off the gasket, off the engine and off the covers.

To be fair, my gasket was cooked and it needed a new one. But when we did the tappets I didnt have one..

And after that I kinda.. stopped.. caring..
