What in the world is this

Ever since buying this car, one thing has plagued my mind, and its this little turn style knob, and by the looks of it, this car's one is still in good nick, what does it do? I've tried twisting it and pulling it all sorts of directions (nothing sus)

It's a dimmer switch for your dash lights.

Ah ha! well it must be broken, cause my dash lights are full time dull. thanks for that

Probably. Have you ever tried turning it while the dash lights are on?

I think i have, but i cant be 100% sure usually fiddle with buttons and things when im waiting for the lights

Its not genuine and not necessary. The original FTO's that came into the country needed them added for compliance. Not necessary anymore.
