Is it legal to get a blue slip done at your place of employment (if the inspection is done by someone else? i.e. boss or fellow employee)?

If the place is an approved blue slip workshop it should not matter.

No, as you wouldn't have the authority.
ie; RTA Authorisation as an Examiner

What if I ended up with this authorisation?

e.g. can my boss do his own cars?

I just spoke with an authorised inspector and yes you could

...but generally they don't as it would prompt the RTA to come and inspect the vehicle themselves.

Fair enough.

I will just get my boss to do my blueslips when I need them done :D
