Hello,
I am wondering what kind of spring ppl are using to lower their car?
Actually I am wondering if any one is using "Lovell" springs and if you have any problems with it?
Could you all let me know if you do as I have a problem and I need this information...
I was using king springs and I had so much problem with it I put my old springs back in now!!!
So help me out if you are using a lovell spring and if that spring is made for an fto? Or it's made for some thing else but it can be used on an fto.
Thank you,

what problems were you having with your king springs? I got some kings on mine and have not had any problems? 2" down at the front and 1" at the back..no problems there.

Whitleine - 50mm lowered front, 40mm lowered rear.
But what problems can you have with springs? Can you be more specific? So long as you upgrade your shocks at the same time, I cannot see where there could be a problem?
As for lovells, they make excellent spring in general. Not sure if they make any for the FTO, but you cannot go wrong with them IMO.

Hey G1,
Selling those adjustable shocks by any chance?
The problem is that every time the weight of the car goes towards the front of the car and I turn the steering wheel, I get this loud metal scraping noise from the front.
I've had it for a while but it only happened after replacing with the kings springs.
So after about a year, I replaced it back to my originals and when they were doing that the mechanic told me that the kings spring's diameter was smaller then the strut base diameter where the springs sit.
So it means the springs weren't a perfect fit so every time there were a lot of load, it slips and moved around in the shocks!
And now they want to charge me for the original springs they replaced!
Now, to me it sounds like they sold me a doddgy springs!
Second, when I went to have the car lowered about a year ago, I originally wanted lovells, but they told me that lovell doesn't make springs for the FTO. That's why I was asking if any one had them on their FTO.
Thirdly, it supposed to only take about 2 hours to replace the spings to an original one. 3hours Max! But this guy took 4.5 hours to replace mine! I sae him talking to his mate looking like working, and I don't see him around the car for about 15min, etc!!!
And lastly, these guys now want to charge me for the replacement of my original springs!!! Mind you I have already been back to them about another 2 times trying to resolve this problem but it couldn't be solved so I basically wanted to resolve this whole problem once and for all by replacing my originals. And now they want to charge me for it! I mean it doesn't sound like they could fix the problem no matter what! The springs are smaller then what it's supposed to be!
So does this make sense to any one? Or is it just me! Btw, they don't open on the weekends and they are in Hornsby and I work in the city! I have to come in late to work when ever I go to these guys and I have to leave early in order to pick up the car!
Man, these guys are crap!
It's costing me time and money and effort!!!
Just to lower a car!!!!!
What do you think?

thats why i chose apexi since i know its made to fit the fto perfectly, as with most japanese brands, with anything else youre taking a gamble especially if you take it to someone who's as dodgy as the guys you are dealing with sound like..
whiteline should also be fine, but i wouldnt like to lower the back 40mm, this would cause major problems for me going over speed humps and steep driveways etc..
if they sold you dodgy springs in the first place then what they really should be doing is getting the correct size king springs for you and installing it for free, i think someone had posted a part number for king springs before...
what made you go all the way to hornsby for this anyway?

It was a place that was recommended to me by the place I used to work as part timer.....
But I don't want to have anything to do with them....
So I don't want them to order any new springs or any thing cause it has the original springs in it now and I'm happy with that!!!!!!
No more dealing with those guys!!!!
I just want to sort this out once and for all!!!!!

I have lowered the rear 40mm, front 50mm, and it does not scrape anywhere unusual, well, nowhere this side of Malacoota! Certainly no probs with driveways (and my driveway is steep), speed humps etc.

mrx which springs do you have on?
can i see a side profile of your car? i wanna compare it to mine. the rear wheels/tyres should actually sit above the wheel arch somwhat right?
of course if you go very slow and sideways you should be able to get around most obstacles

hi
didnt want to start a new thread
i have a veilside front bar.... just curious which springs can i use to fill up my wheel gap or to balance the front gap to the rear??
and is it alright to just lower the front and leave the back? or is it better to do both?
thank you

I live in hornsby, where abouts is this place ?? It sounds like he put the wrong king springs on the begin with. I dont usually take my fto any where here because no one knows anything about them, I oonly took my car to a place here for a spray job, and that was the worst I had seen (cracks and blobs of paint bluilt up) If I were you go up to uas they have whitleine springs for the fto and they wont charge you for talking to their friends
