4spd Tip Issues

Hey guys,
In FTO #2, I've been noticing some odd activity with the transmission, just looking for some suggestions on what it might be and what I can do to fix it! Before you go ahead and suggest a manual conversion, DON'T. The missus can't drive manual and if any car's getting a conversion, it's mine
Here's what's happening:
- clunking sound when shifting occasionally
- Dropping a gear unexpectedly and uncalled for when in D
- Unusually delayed shifts in tip mode
- Occasional shuddering when revs fall below 1500RPM
I'm going to disconnect the battery for half an hour or so and try and reset it as I have a feeling it might have something to do with the way the missus drives or how the previous owner drove it but I assume it's a little more than that...

Start by checking the colour/smell/condition of the trans fluid.

Yep check the oil! I bet its black and smells burnt.
The torque converters suck in the FTO.

The REAL question is... Why bother with a manual conversion in a non mivec?

Mate, you've got a slush box GR, not only will you drop 20 kegs, you'll pick up 10-15 kws. You wont recognise the difference it makes!

If I was ever to do a manual conversion, wouldn't it just be a simple idea to do a mivec conversion as well?

That's engine out (and loom and ECU etc) we're talking about gearboxes here man!
