My 94 gpx manual has started making a loud whistling noise when it's cold. It goes away once it's warmed up a bit (15-20min of driving) and doesn't seem to be affecting the performance at all.

Any ideas what it might be? I'm not getting any warning lights and there's no sign of leaks.

It just sounds like air is rushing through somewhere it shouldn't be so could it just be that some seals need replacing or something like that?

It's going in for a service in the next week or so, so I'd like to have some idea what needs doing before hand.

no it's stock apart from the wheels

I've got the same thing with my exhaust.

Probably a leak somewhere or if it's in the engine bay it might be a bearing somewhere. Don't ignore it, it could get worse.

I was gonna say the same thing but didnt wanna sound like a prick haha

Pads could just be on the indicators and makes a whistling noise while the pads are cold.

uh if its a really loud whistle and gets louder when u accellerate.. check your fan/alternater belts etc? could b loose/too tight

Had it serviced and they reckon it's probably the power steering pump, just waiting on a new handbrake cable to come in first then they're going to find out for sure.

Just listen to this and watch the sound disappear
