Painting Vent Surrounds

Has anyone ever taken out their vents on both sides of the car? If so, how is it done? I want to paint the surround pieces, and cant figure out how to get them out. Cheers.
i take it u mean the vents on the far left and far right on top of the dash??
If so then use your fingernail to lift the front of it, the criss cross fabric part not the vent, or use a flat head screwdriver (carefully) once its poped up just slide it 2wards u! Just b careful as there is a speaker attached behind the vent.
The vent itself is held in place by a screw and 2 clips, just undo the screw and slide the vent out, simple!!!
When your puttin it back in remove the screw altogether and slide the clips in first then affix the screw otherwise u'll have a bit of bother fitting it back in!!
