Hey guys, I know i'm not even close to getting my full licence, but i was just wondering about when i do get it and how i want to turbo my FTO. Thinking it over though, mayby i'd rather upgrade to a GTO as it will come with the twin turbo anyway

What are your thoughts guys?

well my friend owns a non turbo GTO, so i cant really say much for performance as you're looking at TT, interior, from what i can recall felt smaller to the fto.. (in the back anyway) its a fkin big + heavy car, if you're gonna get a gto get the newer ones, i think its vr4?? (non flip up lights) they look so much better

Big, heavy and hard to work on.
If your not mechanically minded it would cost an arm and a leg to have some one work on it.

+1.
I've heard parts are a bitch to source as well. Didn't find many GTO owners (club) around when I was looking either which meant lesser support/opportunity to learn.

Yeah i would definitely go for the VR4-4! Just seems easier to buy a Gto than to modify my Fto. But as you guys said, i looked at a UK and American Gto club, and they don't seem as good as this one!
Well if its going to be that much harder and cost that much more, guess it isn't worth it. I do love the look of the Gto though!

Rather plan at the NSX to be your next upgrade after the FTO. I know that's what my future plan is
If you are hell bent on driving a twin turbo car, you can try the Soarer V6 TT (not sequential turbos though). But they are not as fun to drive as the FTO ...I test drove one before buying the FTO

Nsx would be one of my DREAM cars, not just an upgrade haha. Cost too much for me but good luck to you man! I don't mind staying with my Fto anyway

I love the look of the latter GTOs, it's a shame they are so expensive to own / maintain / source parts for. Things such as the headlights cost over $1,000 to replace (for later models).

I concur, the late models look pretty insane. I don't think I have ever seen one in Australia, whereas (despite still being rare) I've seen a few FTO's

I saw 2 the other day. One in a dealership, the other driving around. Ive seen a few, pretty rare, though.

According to some reviews I've been watching they actually aren't that bad to handle? With AWD and twin turbo I'd imagine they would be quite fun to drive.
Also didn't realise the Dodge Stealth is the 3000GT :p

One of my friends owns one and it hauls arse, in a straight line & around corners!

Dam I want one so bad. Would be a head turner for sure! Would feel good to have such a rare car as well. But the costs are too much and if it's hard to source the parts in the first place, then i won't worry about it. Happy with my Fto anyway

Yeah I don't think they handle all as bad as everyone suggests. I mean you can't really compare how a 1200kg car handles compared to a 1650kg car. And to haul 1650kg from 0 to 100km/h in 5 seconds flat is pretty impressive
