I know this has been tried many times...but here it goes again.

Spoke to John (UAS), as usual he needs a minimum of 10 orders to make those CAI kits. He is also happy to make just the main intake pipe as well (connecting the TB to the pod filter) as a stand-alone order.

Price will be lower than the web price. I have told him I will negotiate on the price once I have the numbers.

So...anybody interested?

Last GB was done by me a couple of years ago, just for the pipe. They ended up being $180 a pop....

My plan was to get the pipe & go direct to a manufacturer. $180 is far too much for a bit of rubber, I reckon they can be made cheaper.

lol, can't we get the pipe from someone here and try to replicate it? I turned desperate overnight for a CAI mod for my car...I don't know why....maybe I am just trying to cover my grief after Italy's loss at UEFA finals today

The UAS kit is a basic expensive toy for someone who does not have time/effort to mess around. Imo; a replicated pipe, custom box, a 4" filter and some good front intake mod combined could be a good custom CAI upgrade kit to sell....if someone can/is willing to make them in mass.

I know Dwayne has a custom box mod.

I have a print out of dwaynes box in the garage and just need to get around to cutting it out and stensiling it onto more sheet metal.

But depends on how much and when. $180 is ridiculous though and I wouldn't pay out of principle.

Had a look at the Jdm catalogue, good prices. Need to find which one will fit us though. Also i think we still need to do a box mod to enclose the filter or to isolate it using heat shields.

The one I have pictured is probably the closest one to fitting. You can get the neck in different sizes for cars with upgraded TB as well.
Also Simota and some other brands made copies but not sure of which ones which are $100.

Yes you'd need the box, but the box setup is not a problem as it's easily made.
Keep in mind you'd need to relocate the battery with this setup I suggested

Have not looked at relocating the battery yet. I do use the boot quite often and have the space saver tucked inside as well. Relocating it will definitely give me a lot of room in front for the intake mods though....hmm :\

Opened the front bar today. I can replace the stock front intake pipes also I think there is enough room to squeeze a flexible hose directly from the grill to a box.

Anyone still interested in this? I rang them up today to see if they have stock and they said they can only make them for a group of 7 or higher. I'm in for the whole kit or even just the pipe.

Don't think anyone here is interested in the UAS kits. But if we get the numbers, I am still keen.

My alternate plan was to fabricate the pipe along with that small nipple connector by myself, haven't had the time to look into it yet.

Maybe we should have a group buy for extractors

I'm suprised we can't get the numbers, from what I've read about the kit in this forum its seems like the best CAI made for the FTO.

It is, but it's too pricey.

I would be in but as mentioned it depends on the price.
In the end it's just a bit of silicone so the price must reflect that (to an extent).
