Mivec point?

Hello all I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now but never got around to it. I have noticed on my car when accelerating past 4500rpm there is a change in noise. Is this noise mivec point or is it just preparing it for mivec at 5500rpm? or does mivec kick in when the noise changes? if so is there any advantages or disadvantages of having it kick in early? ie power drop and how can I return the stock setting?

What kind of noise? Mivec noise? Haha

Do you have a mivec controller?

Also as to changing it. I believe it was aza and another member who went to a lot of trouble to find out stock mivec point is most optimum (maybe minus a few hundred revs) but basically no point changing if your looking at peak performance

Yeah it's the mivec sound lol and as for mivec controller I wouldn't have a clue LOL but yeah that's what I was thinking after I posted, maybe it's not a bad thing for it to kick in earlier soundwise  , but performance wise it would, although peak performance doesn't really worry me at this point in time. After all it's only a daily driver

I have noticed the same thing but it doesn't sound like mivec to me between 4500-mivec noise gets deeper then hits mivec and a massive noise change I just thought it was normal

are you running open pod or stock setup? it might be just induction sound around 4500rpm.
did you notice anything else when you hit 5500rpm?

The change in sound at 4,500rpm is when the intake manifold switches between long runners (low end torque) to short runners (high end power).
If you hold your throttle body open and look inside you'll see each runner has a butterfly when channels air around the plenum or directly into the runners depending on whether it is "open" or "closed"
