Im assuming some of you have purchased a CAI kit from unique auto, and i was just wondering how the kits perform ? Im thinking of buying one and just wanted to get a few opinions on the product...

Did you all find a differance in performance ?

How easy is it to install ?

How is the snorkle installed and where does the air come in from on the front of the car for the snorkle ?

Look forward to your responses :)

LOL,

I believe there is already a review thread about these...
To summarise, yes you can feel the difference, even if you already have an air filter, and your getting just the pipe.

One or two probs that i have encountered, is I've been way to busy to pull off the front bumber to install the snorkel, second, the battery rod that clamps the battery rubs on the pipe, so soon there will be hole, so i have to move the battery to the boot soon.

I'm hoping Steve can shed some light on this, as i'm having some difficulties. Maybe Steve should of wrote some instructions 1st before he started selling it.

My problem is. I don't quite understand if the snorkel (aka just a 100mm 1.2m long tube) is meant to fit in the circular hole where the original went, or in the other hole that is created by the heatshield.

Secondly, The other end of the snorkel, wtf does that go, in my front bumber there is a black cover restricting me to pull it through so that it gets air from the front bumber... So I have to pull the whole bumper of to pull this black cover off, which then this possibly allow for the attachment of my snorkel... Now, I don't exactly like pulling sh*t off my car, I'm sure that cover has a purpose...

I know my standard battery is a fair bit smaller than my battery tray and clamp (at least an inch either side from memory). If yours is the same why not just buy a smaller battery tray from AutoBarn, SuperCheap or somewhere? and mount it across a bit further?

Cheers

it shouldnt be to hard though i had steve and robs assistance for my install

the snorkel for the cold air feed will require the removal of your front bumper for ease of install for 2 reasons
1) to remove the sh*tty old air feed which takes up room
2)to allow you to cutaway some of the air damn plastic to allow the snorkel to get to the air in front of the radiator(doesnt have to but this is where the air pressure is highest and also cooler air)

the snorkel will then come up from under the car into the hole left by the removal of sh*tty old stock air feed

Is that the kit available as a group buy on this site or a different one?

If it is the same one, then I must say that I'm very disappointed  . Us Victorians have been waiting for about 3 months to receive ours, yet here we are seeing other people buy it from UAS at a cheaper price.

Any explanations :?: :!: :?: :!:

I'll change mine to a blue pipe if it means getting my CAI kit sooner. I have a compulsory minor service coming up and would like to get the CAI kit fitted at the same time. Is that doable Steve?

I called UAS today refering my CAI kit with Black pipe and yeah there are probs with the people doing the production of the black pipe. I was offerd a blue or red so i would say if you want either colour u should get it pretty much straight away...

Not sure with those ordered through the group buy though .
