Need an engine stand. Found one at SCA on special - http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... escription

Anyone used them before or know if this is suitable to store and engine indefinitely, fit in an FTO and be able to load an engine onto a ute? If not, what can?

You would want an engine crane... not stand.

My spare 52 was on a stand for years, had no issues with it going back into the car after prolonged time.
Have my spare 63 on it currently.

But yeah, crane to lift into ute.
Stand to hold the engine to work on it.

Just had a look at your link, this one looks a little flimsy to me  might be ok, but the support bracket looks a bit weak, what about the other ones you were shown in the previous thread? They looked stronger, and they were RED 8)

Red makes things go faster.. My engine stand doesnt need to go fast  I dont need an extra 30kw on it.

I've changed heaps of engines but I cannot see how you would lift the engine out of the FTO? More likely drop it?

If you had a hoist you would drop it. But comes out the top easy also. Though I'd remove the bonnet (which I'd do on any car any way).

Gotta angle the motor high at the timing belt end. Easy do-able.
