This was happening to me yesterday when my battery went flat.

I figured it out though.

If the battery has gone flat it will reset the ECU which can make the car stall until it relearns every thing.

My car was stalling heaps.
It just didn’t seem to idle at all and the revs just died.

The way I fixed it was to start the car from cold and make sure you turn the aircon off straight away (It will automatically come on when the ECU has been reset). Let the car warm up fully for about 15-20 mins without touching the accelerator once.

After that the car seems to be ok and hasn’t stalled since.

Just make sure the car is really cold so it has to idle higher to warm up.

I too have a 95 GR tip. Got a brant system installed and the installer popped the hood and laughed when he saw the fto battery. He said replace that one as soon as possible as the alarm does draw extra power. The other thing he said was that the power going to the central locking actuators?? can burn them out and they may need to be replaced.

When you disarm - does it do that?? even though it doesnt unlock the doors.

so u guys reckon i should just change the battery to a better one?

i havent has it checked yet cause i only just got the car a couple months ago ....

hmmm.... but the other suggestion of just warming up the car for abt 15 - 20mins seems a bit too much of a hassle cause i mean it usually happens at the most unexpected times like filling up gas and stuff....

the cars got me stumped lol thanks for all ya help!!!

cheers

its not your battery if you are able still to start your car.

If its your battery you wouldnt be able to start your car at all, since the problem started.
