I've never heard of a side light HID, but I honestly can't imagine why anybody would want one. Aside from looking stupid on the car, I dare say you'd end up getting a defect so probably not worth it.

What the hell is a side light?

Low beam

driving (fog) lights
tail light (brake lights)
reverse lights.
side indicator (pedestrian light)

edit: cornering light?, except the FTO don't have those...

The name side light seems to point to the side indicator (pedestrian light)

At least we have an option of head lights these days. 10 years ago try getting a 9005 or 9006 bulb, no one sold them, I was driving around for over a month with no headlight!
