My 275cc injectors are now installed and running along with a 65mm throttle body (thanks Ben for the tip on this) and modified intake manifold. The emanage ultimate is handling the conversion of the 275cc injectors nicely, car is idling and revving very clean. I've also wired some mods on the ultimate so I can more easily tune fuel and then ignition.

So along with the recent fuel rail mods I'm now ready to hit the track to tune this and see what I can get out of it. Hopefully I might head down to Wakey on Monday if I can get enough time tomorrow to finish off a few bits and pieces and get the car loaded. I still need to modify my air intake as the new brake ducting passes where the pod filter used to sit. And an oil change, refit the front bumper then hopefully it's ready to load onto the trailer. Going to be a busy day

Nice work Shane,

Were they Magna injectors?
And are they a direct fit?
Also, did you feel you need the injectors? As I recall your engine isn't boosted

Diamante injectors, ex US, direct fit. Magna V6 are 210cc.

I'm maxed out with the stock injectors. Only way to make more power is to inject more fuel/air, so I needed bigger injectors. 210's probably would have been OK but if I decide to run E85 later these would probably be too small also. So thankfully the 275's seem to work well. Previously tried 390's and these didn't work well with the emanage ultimate. I think too big a change for a piggyback.

Nice. Did you have fun grinding out the manifold?

Won't be going to Wakefield tomorrow, still working on the new intake.

Update: air intake complete. still a little bit of tidying up to do but functionally it's as good as it will be.

Shane I believe the 3.0L Magna are 210cc, the 3.5L injectors are 240cc.

Which engine does the US Diamante have with the 275cc injectors?
From my memory the 4G92 1.6L MIVEC also has 275cc injectors.

Also, any pics? Or at least what color are they?

Diamante had quad cam where-as the Magnas/ Veradas only had Dual cam.

Same motor, different heads, however from memory the heads aren't bolt on... so...

Was either 72 or 74 motor from one of those.

Just noticed, all that nice fuel line & connectors & you're still using an oem filter? You should upgrade to a nice 40 micron high flow unit or similar if you're allowed.

No need, the stock filter is more than capable of handling the amount of fuel I'll be putting through it.

If I was turbo I'd probably look at a higher spec Bosch unit or similar.

No idea, I just bought em off eBay. 00-04 MITSUBISHI DIAMANTE MOTERO 3.5L V6 FUEL INJECTORS. They're yellow.

WARNING: Changing your injectors without an ecu that is capable of being retuned to suit will result in your car running rich.
When I installed the 275's I initially started the car with no change to the ECU. It idled OK but was running at an AFR of around 9.5, whereas at idle it should have been running around 14-15.5. ie extremely rich.

WARNING: Changing to a 65mm throttle body without an ecu that is capable of being retuned to suit may result in your car running lean = very bad. This will depend on whether the 6A12 will automatically suck more air because it can, or not. The jury is still out on this. If installing with a stock ECU I'd recommend a dyno run with AFR & knock sensors immediately to confirm if there are any problems. If you have a piggyback I'd recommend a retune to see if you get any more power.

For a stock FTO running standard pump fuel a 65mm throttle body & 210cc injectors might be a nice match :)

Yeah my car was running between 21-22 AFR with the bigger TB, uber lean.

Strangely enough, it was only like that in low rpms, from 3500 up, it was ok

That is strange, but you're running an aftermarket full ecu, so will come down to how this has been setup.

Do you have a closed loop mode on your ecu?
