I was just reading on a local Exhaust shop website that larger mufflers reduce noise (thinking about that, it seems pretty self-evident given the term 'muffle'). Is this the case, and it's just the additional exhaust components that contribute to the sound?

Add more mufflers to take away sound
Take them off for more
And yes bigger mufflers will reduce sound
A cannon is not a big muffler lol

Quite a lot of the jargon I was unfamiliar with, but an informative read nonetheless. Gives me a good reason not to expend too much money on the 323.

lol, what were you looking at getting? Do you want to increase performance? or just make lots of noise?

Hah, as far as performance goes, probably not, still on green Ps for a while yet. Noise would be nice like, not a ton. (I'm not that much of an attention whore, but just to round it out a bit). But I'm not forking out $100 just for a bit of ear candy.

And if its noise your after just remove a resonator?

Yeah. It'll be a while yet before I can afford the outlay of an FTO (but I'm keen to get there eventually).

Is that a simple job? I have absolutely no mechanical knowledge, so this is most likely going to be something someone else will have to do.
