I was just curious what's the thoughts on the carbon fibre wrapping bonnet? Or does anyone in the club already done it?

I'm just trying to get more opinions whether or not it will suit. :D

it will stand out on your silver car, that's for sure.
can look good though, but I'm not much of a fan of a fake CF bonnet, get a real one

Worst idea ever. You're adding several kilos of weight to your car just to get the lighter weight look.

We have CF bonnet  and boot... and wing, hehe.

The wrap is a good idea, but you're best learning on something small first as it's tricky stuff, especially with a large and curvy canvas.

Buy the 3M stuff and you can't go wrong.

Yes, it's a wanky 'look' factor, but ignorning that, it's 100% legal, and to most people will be fooled to think it's CF... unless you open the bonnet or let them touch the car.

Meanwhile, CF on silver... never been a fan of.

Yeah I was never a fan of it either until I've seen it on two of my friends cars

It wouldn't add that much weight would it?

Will look to do so tonight.

At work, so have access to el-zilcho.

You can see a bit of it in the signature pic.

Car currently sports factory gear as it sits in my street in the sun all day every day.

^ Worst comment ever. You can barely add a kilo by just using carbon fibre wrap with the bonnet, let alone "several kilos".

Anyway Dre, don't go for wank factor
Gotta be legit JDM yo!
You get carbon fibre replacement items to replace the original ones that are normally weighty on the car, not just for looks :thumright:

Given that a full carbon bonnet weighs in at 30 pounds, I wouldn't be surprised if wrapping a normal one adds a couple of kilos. It won't be much no, but it is still some. At least we agree on why to do it properly. :D

@dr390
You wouldn't take a blow up doll out to dinner instead of your girlfriend. And for the same reasons, you shouldn't just wrap a factory bonnet in carbon. Fake items just for looks always make you look crappier once people realise.

problem with getting the real thing is defects and price lols, etting it done its like quarter of the price of a real one, i checked it out on car mate thee looking for like $1000 on it
and i would never take a blow up doll to dinner cause wouldnt have a problem that department
plus at the moment im getting more opinions atm, weight factor isnt that much of a issue man,
