My ftos engine is apparantly cooked and ive been able to find another non mivec engine pretty cheap but without the wiring loom. Question i have is, will it be harder for my mechanic to use my original wiring loom when he does the change over? I havent had the car for long and dont want to get stitched up if its a major effort. May be a silly question but i really am unsure.

The part of the wiring loom that goes out the driver's side (injectors and alternator) actually has a connector that meets up with the main loom. You'll probably see this on the new engine otherwise it'll be pretty straightforward to use the existing one.

if you are trying to put a non mivec motor in a mivec fto you will need to change ecu and wire harness
