Rims will fit, but tyres may be a bit wide, you really need to know the width and offset of the rim as well.
Best bet is to test fit them before buying.

I run 235/45/R18s & they
used to rub, then I pulled the guard liners out & did a little wheel arch panel beating

Ah okay ill ask the seller, cant really try them on cause its all the way down in meb haha
Sorry what dose ''scrubbed at the front'' means?
So these tyres are too wide and i wouldnt be able to turn properly or something? o-o
Also my current wheel seems to be heaps wide compared to my mums rolla o-o

It means that when you turn to full lock, the Tyres may brush the inside of the wheel well or guards. This will only happen with an incorrectly fitted wheel and tyre package and/or your car has been lowered.
So these tyres are too wide and i wouldnt be able to turn properly or something? o-o
Wider tyres means that they take up more space and will scrub unless you have the correct wheel offset.
Also my current wheel seems to be heaps wide compared to my mums rolla o-o
Wheels on a sports car which is designed to be grippy are wider than those of a car that is designed to be cheap and economical... How is this surprising?

Ah i see, my wheels already makes the noise when i turn full way, its got lowered by the previous owner i guess thats the reason why
I see, so having 235/40/18 slighly larger will only cause minor scraping and wont cause any major damage?
Thanksss

You need to find out what the offset is before we can answer that question.

That tyre would be too large I think (not 100% sure, would have to check). It's illegal to change you rolling diameter by more than a certain percentage without mod plates. It also would mean that your speedo would be out.
Sure it wouldn't damage your car, but it would make your tyres wear out fast and become unroadworthy and dangerous very quickly. I don't know about you, but I don't like the idea of paying for new tyres every few months.

mine scrubbed on the front inner splash gards so bad that it put holes it and on full lock it would scrub on the wheel arch so bad that after a few short drives my wheel arch it certain spots was down to bare mettle. i now have light wight 17s and the car brakes and drives 100% better

once again depends on wheel offset they need to be ET+36 for an 8" wide wheel
As for tyres 225/55R17 is WAY to big needs to be either 215/40R17 but could also get away with 215/45R17 or 225/40R17
for 18x8" inch rim tyres need to be 225/35R18 (perfect size) however I run 22/40R18 just a little rubbing nothing to worry about its only on full lock and can get away with a 235/40R18 but will need to give the inner arch a little bit hammer loving to stop rubbing

Yes that size will change speedo and actually is illegal as rolling diametre is too far greater than original size.
Changing tyres every few months? Not sure about you but I dont drive around with wheels on full lock all the time, I wouldnt stress on them wearing quicker than normal

Oh that explain heaps, cause when i got my car, the rim size was 16', and I always thought my tyres are really wide.
Long story short, my speedos are waaaaaaaay out.

It's bennoz you're talking about here. The only "hairdryer" he knows of are the two bolted to the sides of his engine
That, and I'm guessing there was either a lump hammer, or a small sledgy, as well as lots of swearing and other profanities.
