So guys i have found out what teh f**k is wrong with my car finally.
Asked my mate to change the crank angle sensor and we took off all the covers and my less than 1 year old
timing belt was shredded, also a cam shaft bolt was snapped aswell as heaps of bent f**king metal bits all over the engine side to belts and what not.
But nonetheless the crank angle sensor was bent to the buggery.

BTW we took the cam covers off the front and f**k was it bad....the left cover where it was sitting had no oil and was filled with metal in the hole of it better job than any f**king welder could do, also there was a fuckload of metal filings and absolute sh*t in the engine.

So i'm f**king raging at my luck right now....i f**king knew i lost power but apparently nothing was wrong and it was normal. Turns out far from it.
My mate is going to help me which is an absolute godsend right about now....
Here is a list of things he will be doing for me.

-Manual Conversion
-New engine installation
-New pumps/filters/belts
-radiator cleaned
-engine bay cleaned and new engine sandblasted

(what else should we do) he is an ex-mechanic so he knows his sh*t and told me the last mechanic i went to was a fuckhead and overtightened everything anyway.
He quoted me $3000 for all parts cost and his labour. (he will only take a cut of upto 800) so 2200 for engine and all components.
What do you guys think and who has a f**king engine i can buy that has a good history. Also what do i need to take into consideration when getting an engine??
I will need a mivec engine...

You will be hard pressed to find a decent mivec engine, and all other compnents with a manual conversion for 2200 imo - i say while your at it dont waste your time throwing in another 6a12, take advantage of cheap labour and get a 6a13, will obviously be a bit more expensive but well worth it and in the long run will save you heaps if you eventually plan to go down that road.

Bro you need to take those scissor doors off they are feeding too much horsepower into your engine

Jokes aside I didn't end up buying brads mivec engine from his wreck. so that would be an idea for you and f**k yes that's a good price. He is doing an engine replacement and manual conversion so that's heaps good. a lot of work too.

I got a new engine on the coast for $850 delivered to my mechanic with a one month warranty and only 100ks

Oh awesome, what's the deal with 6a13? Just a quick rundown will it need to be modified much for my car or should i just get a mivec.
If i can get one cheap that's good. Bennoz what do you reccommend? Get one of dwayne or brads?

I guess even if it were possible he would probably be what forced to pay and put in a new one? would probably do sh*tty job and get old sh*tty parts to put in out of spite or something - probably have to bite the bullet and give the middle finger whenever you pass the shop but that would be about it.

It's out of the 1 year warranty. Also it was probably caused from the lack of love from the previous owner who had it for 100,xxx kms.

If i can get brads engine that will be great, then my mate will put it in and not cut any corners do a really good job with me.
Also he is going to put in a normal clutch as you don't need a heavy duty. Heavy duty is pointless unless i'm putting a turbo in it or some severe performance upgrades.
He will also use the sandblaster at work to shiny up the manifold of the new engine.

I can also paint the engine bay shiny red make it look pretty.
Take the sh*t you get and do what you can with it.

There is only up from here. I'm at the low.

Atleast i know everything is going to get done right and i can look after it knowing it's done right.

Upgrade to a 6A13 instead

Ok, i've sourced an engine for $900 that i will pick up this weekend or next. (brads engine with 55,000Km's on it)
The rest of the parts including clutch came to 1200 dollars for the engine swap and manual conversion. Still need a few seals with my LSD gearbox then it should be right to put in.
Total cost so far $2100.
I'm quite impressed with the price of everything, looks like i will get away with it all for under $3000.

Oh and new crank angle sensor came today from japan and dwayne.

WIll update with pics and scripts as i go.

Thats a good price! Especially with manual conversion..
