This arvo I was doing 45km/h in a 40 zone, I wasnt paying attention and I was only above the limit for a few seconds however Im pretty sure it was in front of or very near a speed camera. I didnt see any flashes however it was at 3:45pm in perfect sunlight so Im not sure if it didnt flash or if I simply didnt see it. Can I be expecting a fine and a loss of my Ps to come within the next few weeks or will a camera not pick up within 5km of the limit?

but if your certain about this '5km' then your most likely fine. dont quote me on this, but most people iv heard say its like 10km/10% etc

The reason I ask is because Im still on my reds and cant get done for speeding at all otherwise my license is gone. Was wondering if I should be worried about getting done for it or not.
Yeah was definitely no more than 5ks over.

Well they still flash day or night so you would know if you got done.
But as said above you will just have to hang out to see if any thing is sent to you, it could take up to three months.

Yeh you would notice it, it's not really a flash that can go unnoticed

phi-tech - its cool, I get what you mean. I was just wondering how noticeable the flashes are during the day, what speeds the cameras pick up, etc. I know you guys cant do anything about it
Cheers

Pretty much all speedos read 5kmh faster than what your really going anyway, plug a gps in that shows your speed and see for yourself.

Yep that sounds about weight  they do that so you can't recall the event, you then just pay the fine rather fight it in court :? .

I remember it, and I could of fought it and wonas I had a picture of the sign hidden behind the van when it happened, and was going 30 over but my licence was just suspended amyway so I was like meh, no points lost just pile the fine onto my sper lol. Was a surprise though

If its a flash like the E-tag ones then ud definently notice it. Fairly sure the speedo shows faster then what your actually going by a few km/h so you should be fine. Im on my Red p's aswell and ive been a bit scared of speed cameras too. Good luck!

I have 14 points on my license and I still cringe every time I come up to the new safety cams (speed and red light cameras ) as they are all set differently pending on the area you are in :? .

I have 1 point left, so i can't even look at my ipod to change songs or my phone, let alone speed passed a camera! Also got to be careful about my P plate falling off, the back one stays perfectly fine but the front 1 falls off all the time.
