I can get 100 octane at a servo near my place

They add ethanol to it though

Would it give me any issues, damaging the fuel lines or pump?

I ran it for a bit, didnt notice any difference in mileage or performance. The "ethanol blend" is what put me off. I have pretty dirty injectors im sure and they got a little worse when I was using it.

I cant be a 100% but I assumed it was the fuel dragging dirt up from the bottom as they claim it cleans the fuel delivery system.

Unless you know 110% where it comes from ie. Fuel company I would not use it.
If you want a high octain fuel find a performance workshop that makes it and runs it in there own cars, then get it from them.
I have personal knolage of what can go wrong with the engine when running these types of fuel, thanks to a sertan fuel company .

In Sydney they are the same fuel any way .
Caltex for the win now. I won't use any apart from them.

In each state there are only 1 or 2 refineries that all fuel comes from. The trucks pull up, get filled up with base fuel, then the specific companies additives, then off to the servo.

As for United's Premium 100, I've used this in my racecars for years (though the outlet in Blacktown is no longer United so I'm not 100% where this one now comes from but haven't had any issues). I would trust this ahead of any 'performance workshop' blend (sorry aza). Unless of course you're buying it in a sealed drum (ie one of the genuine racing fuels) but then you'll be paying a huge premium!

BP 98 is still the recognised better fuel in NSW (again sorry Aza) with lots of bad stories with the other major brands.

Best bet if you want a performance fuel, fill up around 75% BP Ultimate and around 25% E85 (United). Or if you're running turbo with aftermarket ECU pure E85 is the only way to go

As for Ethanol, nothing wrong with it, your engine will actually run cleaner and cooler with it, but yes if you have an old dirty fuel filter then you can hardly blame the fuel can you Seriously though change the filter before switching to an Ethanol blend, then run it for say a thousand km's then change it again, then all good

Meanwhile, I've run E10 in my old Magna and it loved it, ran better than regular.
Same story more recently for the NX that I no longer own.
The Merc and FTO however get Premium, no blends.

So, I'm not as down on ethanol blends as some.
Sure an old dirty fuel system will do chronic things for anyone, especially when you put something that's supposed to clean things through it.

The stock ecu will happily handle E10 (EDIT: PULP98 based E10) and should handle the 75/25 E85 blend above (this works out to about E20). If you're running an aftermarket ECU or piggyback then yes you will get the maximum benefit out of a retune, but will run fine on a PULP98 tune.

From a tune point of view adding ethanol just raises the octane level (yes this is a simplified comment lol).

Once you go full E85 though the extra fuel quantity required might be a bit much for a stock ecu.

The biggest thing to be careful of is if you do have it tuned (correctly) for an ethanol blend and then run PULP98, you will likely encounter lots of knock (=very very bad). The other advantage of ethanol blends is you can safely run a lot more advance (normally equals more power) but put standard PULP back in on the same tune and you'll quickly destroy an engine

Of course finding someone who actually know how to tune to start with is your first problem
