Anyone here know what i should set my torque wrench to so i can properly tension the bolts on my cam caps.

To answer my own question...

44Nm for the 10mm bolts
81Nm for the 12mm bolts

Table found in the fto engine workshop manual

Actually, it says 24Nm for cam caps later on in the manual.
So i'm going to go with that.

That is massive for the size of bolt.

It's not that bad, 44nm is one grunt and 81nm is two grunts when using a spanner :D .

Seems a lot to me still considering the small size of bolts A wheel nut is 100nm.

Yeah in the manual it says 10mm standard bolts 44nM and 12mm 81nM.

But then later on it says the cam cap bolts are to be tensioned at 24nM

So i reckon they aren't your "standard" bolts.

all good now, car is on the road again and I now know for sure it's those plastic f**kers which are causing the tapping :).
So i will have to deal with that when I have the spare cash.
