Hi I've Read around around and found not much about importing a car. I may be wrong about this.
Im just hoping to ask a few questions for a person who has imported a car themselves or has imported one for someone else. I remember someone importing a car for a friend here.

Car Cost about 4 Grand Including shipping. that's the okay part.

But I need some import approval?

After that its compliance . that's about 2.5k

Then its plates and your able to go right?

I've Check SEVS and found that the car can be imported.

That sums up the process reasonably well. I imported mine (well, someone did it for me).

lol... Yep, thats mine. I had a mate do the importing and compliance, but he doesnt do it anymore. At the time (nearly 3 years ago), it ended up costing 16K, but I got the compliance with parts only. As a general rule

Cost of car + around 7k (includes auction fees, shipping, GST, import duty). You may have to add a little for rego on top. Remember it needs to be pretty much stock for compliance, so if you bring in a modded one, most of the bits will need to be changed for compliance.

Engine bay = bit of Carbon fibre coating, bit of polishing and some aftermarket dress up parts from the UK and a pipe change or two and some custom shileding around the airbox I put together.

Put your name down for the bonfire next year (april) and youll get to see it in person + plenty more.
