Hey guys,
just received this in the mail today:



I was just wondering, how come there is only 1 clip on the set of pads? Is this normal, if so which side would it go on? (these are for the front set of brakes)

They are not a full set .
It looks like a mixed box, there should be two of each not one and three.

So you're the one that paid $165 bucks for these from eBay? LOL

Doesnt really matter.. so long as your calipers are both in good working condition, they should wear evenly & the indicator will work no matter what side its on.

haha no I got these for $90 delivered (they are for the GR).

So should I ask for a refund (have to wait 2 weeks for delivery) or just pull the indicator off? I'm not sure on the condition of my calipers, but these will be fitted to new brake discs as well.

They are the same pad, simply 1 does not have the 'whistle' on it.
They will suffice.
But yes, as Aza said, you have 3 of 1 pad.
Didn't GR have single pot fronts?

I was thinking the same thing.

well, Just searched over the camskill website, and surely enough, with the pictures provided the GR has a split down the middle.
Difference being the backing plate, odd.

Seems kind of odd, never come across a single pot with a split pad.

The fronts have the split, EBC says it helps to dissipate the brake dust better.

And I'm 80% sure mine had the same thing, only one of them had the metal clip but they do nothing anyway, the caliper holds them tightly in place and the bracket stops them from going anywhere.

Also, the GPX/GPvR ones are way bigger in size.

3rd post lol. Micheal if you need a hand in putting them in let me know, I'm pro at everything brake related now, just rebuilt my calipers and installed the HEL brake lines

Fair enough about the split.

The clip is a 'whistle', low pad indicator.

My understanding is that the indicators sit under the pad compound at a certain depth that when low enough are revealed creating that screeching sound.

I though that clip worked as a guide to slide it into the caliper bracket?

There's different types.
In these pads case, that clip is the whistle that creates the sound when the pad is low.
Would take a picture of the set I have behind me, but too much effort. lol

It rides just long enough that when there is about 2mm left it will make contact.

Thanks for the e-mail. The EBC DP3830C are only supplied with one wear sensor pad, as this is the way EBC sell these pads. There are a few reasons for this, the first being that the car should only require 1, as the pads should wear the same on all 4 pads (if this doesn't happen then the car has a different problem with it). The other reason is because on Japanese models, some are fitted with 1, some with 2 and some with 4, and it can differ despite having the same age car, model, engine size etc etc.
