Hi all
My front control arm rear bush is gone,
And so it needs to be replaced. What are people's thoughts/experiences with the aftermarket urethane vs genuine mitsi rubber and does anyone have suggestions on where to get them and how much I should expect to pay?
Thanks in advance

Your search button busted mate? There's a little thread consisting of about 20 pages of suspension talk, that we like to call 'The Suspension Thread'

I know, but I was after a quick answer because I'm at work ATM.
Guess I'm just after the lazy option...
Ok I'll go trudge through the 20 pages :p

Ok I've had a quick read in the suspension thread, and it just says that they are a pita, and that you decided to go for the urethane with offset.
But my mechanic said that he had seen a few urethane ones snap, and he suggested genuine rubber were the better way to go?

Its not like your gonna be tracking anyways... Like engine mounts - I just used oem rubber - urethanes will make the cabin shudder more... You should be fine...

You may not use the car on the track, but I'll bet my left nut you both drive it like its on a track...
The correct grade of polyurethane will not cause any 'cabin vibration', thats a crock... espcially coming from a bunch of kids that will throw in a set of eBay coilovers that have a 9kg\mm spring rate without batting an eye lid

When pushed hard, rubber will soften, unlike poly, and can deform under load, changing your wheel alignment... in the middle of a corner.

Bit long there mate.
They won't have time to read all that.

Oh well it's ordered now.
Im also hoping that these bushes should help stop the vibration/shaking I'm permanently battling. (if not, new/different rotors, and rotating the tyres is my next port of call).

I always go the urethane option simply for the life of the product over conventional rubber.
Having said that, I have never done the background or thorough testing checks to know the beneficial difference.
